Serenity!
Serenity, the feature film based on the short-lived but much loved Firefly TV series is listed for release in the US on December 20. As a fan of the TV series, (and of the movie, which I saw at the cinema) I pre-ordered the US release from Play USA a month ago, when I first found out I could.
Given that the supposed release date is still a few days away, I’m rather happy that it arrived in today’s post :)

Yes, I keep meaning to get a look at the TV series and/or the spin-off flick. Would you recommend one over the other?

It’s entirely possible to watch the movie without having seen the series (Firefly), although I would recommend seeing both :)
It’s possible to pick up a copy of the entire series on DVD for about £15 these days, and seeing the series first will give you a better understanding of the characters, and will increase the emotional attachment to them in the movie.
